Richard Francis (Dick) Martin, 82 of Emmett, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at home. He was born to Harold J. and Esther H. Martin of Emmett in September of 1935. Dick attended school in Emmett and graduated from EHS.

He was married to Cherie Jean LaFordge on April 27, 1957. Dick started work in the logging industry, and then he drove delivery truck for Meadow Gold Dairies. He was a supervisor for Boise Cascade at the Emmett sawmill when he retired.

Dick was an avid reader and passionate golfer. He was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed watching his children/grandchildren compete in all kinds of sports. He is survived by two children, Corby L. Martin (Dana) of Gulf Breeze, FL and Jaclynn Stritzke (Don) of Caldwell; grandchildren, Chelsea Hammond, Sam Martin, Logan and Hailey Stritzke; four great grandchildren and two sisters, Judith Wallace Peterson of Horseshoe Bend and Peggy Wallace of Pasco, WA.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cherie; his youngest sister, Linda Halverson of Thornton, CO and his youngest nephew, Dennis Wallace of Boise. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 27th at 11:00 am at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
