OBITUARY Richard Garland LaCoste October 6, 1927 – January 11, 2019 Richard LaCoste, Sr passed away peacefully on Friday, January 11, 2019. He was born on October 6, 1927 in Whistler, Alabama, to parents, Robert Vince and Mary LaCoste. He and Ruby Lee Irby were married on August 4, 1945 and were married for 73 years.

They resided on LaCoste Road their entire lives. With only an 8th grade education, Richard was able to accomplish much, but always accredited any achievement to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. After serving in the United States Army in 1947, he and Ruby raised three sons.

With those sons, he began LaCoste Builders. He worked for years as a construction superintendent for multiple large projects in the Mobile area. He was a founding member of Moffett Road Assembly of God and was instrumental in the development and design of the church buildings.

For 3 decades he served as a deacon in church. He was a Godly man who lived out his faith in his home, work, and church. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Lee LaCoste.

He was preceded in death by his son Randy LaCoste. He is survived by his sons, Richard (Sheree), his daughter-in-law, Brenda, and his youngest son Robin (Sharon). He had 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. LaCoste will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. from Moffett Road Assembly of God Church, 6159 Moffett Rd. Mobile, AL 36618. The family will be accepting friends at the church from 12:30 P.M. until service time.

Interment will immediately follow services at Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Eight Mile, AL. FAMILY Ruby Lee LaCoste, Wife Richard (Sheree) LaCoste Jr., Son Brenda LaCoste, Daughter-in-law Robin (Sharon) LaCoste, Son 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
