Richard J. Kampo “R. J”, age 75, of Appleton, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Saturday, January 12, 2019, after a short illness. Rick was born on May 14, 1943 to the late Roland and Dorothy (Otto) Kampo.

He graduated from St. Mary High School in Menasha. In the past he enjoyed working at his plumbing business, R.J. Kampo Plumbing and Heating in Appleton; traveling, fishing, golfing, going to Packer and Badger games, spending time with family and friends, especially the Hildebrand family and Dave and Jill Jones family. He also had a great love for all of his Boxer dogs.

Rick is survived by his wife Sue, his children, Ray (Wendy) Kampo, Carrie (Jon) Smith, Joe (Michelle Becher Formiller) Kampo, and Tim Kampo; his grandchildren, Andy (Robin) Kampo, Alex Kampo, Gage, Griffin, and Peyton Smith, Mason, Jensen and Jozie Kampo; his great-grandchildren, Zaden and Levi Kampo; brothers and sisters, Mary Kay Martin, Cathy (Randy) Huebner, Jim (Nancy) Kampo, Joan (Dan) Kossel, Pam (Rick) Pomerenka and Paul (Tina Lausman) Kampo, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Helen Mayefski, his sister-in-law, Mary B. Mayefski, his nephew, Matthew Martin and his brother-in-law, Gary Martin. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jack Anderson, Ascension Hospice, especially, nurse McKenzie, social worker Ann and Chaplain Cliff, as well as Deacon Don from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Appleton.

There will be no end of life service. “Someday I will see you on the other side”. A memorial fund will be established in Rick’s name.
