OBITUARY Richard Lunsford December 5, 1936 – January 18, 2019 Richard C. Lunsford, 82, of Blountville, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019. He was born on December 5, 1936 in Hamilton, OH to the late Thelma and Richard Lunsford. Richard began working as a Layout Draftsman before finding his true calling, being a pastor.

He began in 1971, pastoring to many churches in West Virginia and Tennessee, with his last being South Side Baptist Church in Tennessee. Along with being a pastor, Richard was on the staff of the Baptist Children’s Home in both Tennessee and Florida. His hobbies included woodworking and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thelma Marie Huey and Richard John Lunsford; his brother, Dale Lunsford; and his Sight Dog, Cleo. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Lunsford; sons, Richard W. Lunsford and wife MaryJayne and Randall Lunsford; daughter, Erikka Lunsford; grandson, Richard Henry Lunsford; great-grandsons, Ronan and Parker Lunsford; brothers, Earl Thomas Lunsford and wife Pamela and Walter Lunsford and wife Margaret; and his dog, Happy and cat Moonbeam. It was Richard’s wishes to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
