He married Shirley Ann Novosad on May 28, 2006, in Lyons, Texas at Community Chapel. Richard was a member of Bluff Dale Baptist Church, was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the Summerville Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his mother Wilma Roberds, his wife Shirley Roberts, three sons, Ryan Roberds of Baytown, Texas, Richard Roberds of Arkansas, John Schoppe of Stephenville; one daughter Aimie Wilcox of Cleburne, Texas; eleven grandchildren, and one brother Brad Roberds & wife Stacey of Colorado.
