Obituary for Eleanor B. Cates Van Huss Eleanor B. Cates Van Huss November 24, 1942—September 26, 2018 Eleanor B. Cates Van Huss, 75 of Morgan Mill, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 3rd at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Morgan Mill Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, 1 hr. prior to services on Wednesday. Eleanor was born on November 24, 1942 in Roswell, New Mexico to the late Jessie Melvin and Blanche Oldacker Cates.

She lived over 30 years in Brownwood before moving to Morgan Mill in 2006. Eleanor was a member of the Baptist Church, and was a former member of the Gem and Treasure Assn (while living a short time in San Diego, CA). She was a retired CNA.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Debra Purcell of Morgan Mill, Donald Skaggs of Brownwood, Johnny Skaggs of Escalon, CA, Billy Skaggs of Brownwood, Betty Skaggs of Abilene, and Mary Van Huss of Lake Isabella, CA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, including granddaughter, Savannah Skaggs, whom Eleanor raised and considered her like a daughter; brother, Lee Roy Harvey of Coleman; and a sister, Johnnie of Coleman. Besides her parents, Eleanor was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jenna Lake; twin brother, Franklin Cates; brother, Clifton Cates; and a son-in-law, Larry Purcell.
