Richard Stanley Trenski Sr. June 11, 1933 – January 25, 2019 Share this obituary Upload Photo| Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Richard Stanley Trenski Sr., 85, of New Kensington, formerly of Lower Burrell, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. He was born June 11, 1933, in Natrona Heights, to the late Stanley P. and Mary Ann Sadowski Trenski, and had been a life resident of the local area.

An executive chef for more than 56 years, he was the executive chef and owner of the Cedars Restaurant in Lower Burrell and the Town Deli in Tarentum. A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he served aboard the USS Frank Knox as a CS3. Richard was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, the men’s Bazbina Society, Phoenicians and was a member of the Academy of Chefs.

He enjoyed cooking, gardening, being involved with his grandchildren’s play, sports and activities; spending time with family and telling stories and jokes. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sheila A. Bitar Trenski; sons, Richard S. Trenski Jr. and Michael J. (Megan) Trenski, both of Las Vegas, Nev. ; grandchildren, Michael R., Taylor N., Jaxon A. Trenski, Janine E. Bonilla, Julian and Marquis Coleman; great-granddaughter , Payton Yvonne Trenski; brothers, Michael C. (Sally) Trenski, of Florida, and Gene (Rose) Trenski, of Pittsburgh; brothers-in-law, Raymond (Mary Lou) Bitar, Esq.

, Philip (Jodi) Bitar and Michael (Nancy) Bitar; and sister-in-law, Shirley Calhoun. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Stanley and Edward Trenski; sister, Connie Szymkowiak; and daughter-in-law, Yvonne Janine Ramirez-Trenski. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder Street, Lower Burrell, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday by the Rev.

Meletios Zarafan. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. Trisagion prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
