Richard Stuart Hurlburt, age 68, passed into the loving arms of his savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 25, 2019. Richard was born on February 15, 1951, to Edward Hurlburt and Gertrude Fountaine in Milford, CT. Richard was a Staff Sgt.

in the US Army and a proud Vietnam War veteran. The greatest loves of Richard’s life were his family and his pups. Richard will be forever loved and missed by his wife; Terri; sons, Steven, Jason, and Sal; daughter, Lisa; grandchildren, Bianca, Mitchell, Meagan, Jason Jr., Steven, Richie, Christina, Jessica, Ford, Nina, and Jeanette.

Richard was preceded in death by his son Richard. He leaves brothers, Michael and Jeffrey; and sisters, Denise, Maryjane, and Nancy. He was preceded in death by sisters: Barbara (Choie), Carol (Dolly), and Gloria (Cissy); and his brother, Tommy.

Richard also leaves his many nieces, nephews and family members whom he dearly loved. He will be remembered as a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Richard was loved by everyone around him.

His warm heart and gentle nature were the gifts he carried throughout his life and gave to others daily. His love for his wife was immeasurable. Best friends, Terri and Richard worked side by side until they retired and moved to Michigan with their pups Jojo and Gizmo, and later Romeo and Bolo.

Richard loved creating beauty in his yard where he and Terri and their pups spent many afternoons and evenings. One of his great joys was also living near the water. In Grand Haven, he and his wife loved the lake.

Before moving to Michigan, they lived in Connecticut at the ocean. Richard loved walking his dogs near the lighthouse in Stonington Borough. A military memorial service and celebration of Richard’s life will be held in Stonington, CT, in late summer or early fall.
