Richard “Dick” Swanson 88, of Woodstock, formerly of Wood Dale, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 15, 2018 at JourneyCare Hospice in Woodstock. He was born in Chicago on December 11, 1929 to Arthur and Solvieg (Anstead) Swanson. Richard was a veteran serving with the U.S. Airforce.

He was a partner of S & G horse boarding in Woodstock; and also had worked as a Union Mason. He loved living on the farm and made many great friends along the way. He is survived by three daughters, Robin (Ed) Dahlen, Bonnie (Gino) Giannini, Wendy (Mario) Masciopinto; grandfather to nine, Sarah, Erica, Mike, Joe, Shane, Lisa, Mario, Richard and Ryan; great grandfather to Dylan and Emily; a brother, Robert (Kathy) Swanson; uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, James Swanson. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Ave. Woodstock from 1:00 pm until the Funeral Service at 3:30 pm.

Interment will be private.
