Richard Thomas, 76, of Ponte Vedra passed away on October 12, 2018 at his home. He was born February 24, 1942 in Cleveland Ohio to the late Julius and Helen Thomas and was preceded in death by his sister, Anita Thomas, brother, Michael Thomas and grandson, Mark Allen Ochkie, Jr. Richard devoted his life to his country serving 28 years in United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Navy, Richard embarked on a second career working for Publix, retiring after 25 years.

Richard is survived by his loving wife Diane Pavlik Thomas, his brother, Ronald Thomas, sister, Susan Kaiser, and his children, Christine Wilson and Shane Thomas, grandchildren, Brittany Hutto,(Travis) Shane Jr. and Charles and great-grandson, Mark Hutto. A Graveside Service was held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Hospice of Jacksonville or The American Cancer Society.
