Richard W. Nielsen, age 84, passed away at his home on June 1, 2018. He was born in rural Shelby County on March 26, 1934 to the late Walter and Mina (Stofferson) Nielsen. Dick graduated from Harlan High School and then proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He was the longtime owner of the Treynor Locker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Shari Nielsen; grandson, Tristan White; brothers, Vernon Nielsen and Eugene Nielsen;… Read More » niece, Sharon Nielsen and nephew, Wayne Nielsen. Dick is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rita Nielsen; daughters, Lisa White (Greg) and Christy Nielsen; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Livia, Andyn and Cael White; sister, Doris Meyer; sister-in-law, Margaret Nielsen; a host of other family and friends.

Visitation is 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. on Tuesday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Memorial service is 10:00a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Inurnment is in the Garner Township Cemetery.
