Obituary for Richard William “Dick” Pearson Pearson, Richard W. Dick passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 23, 2018, at the age of 94. Born in 1924, Dick grew up in Mankato, Minnnesota. He entered the Navy in 1942, became a Naval Aviator and proudly served aboard USS Cabot, CVL 28 with VF 32.

He continued to serve in the USNR completing 20 years as a Lieutenant Commander. Dicked played golf into his 80s, traveled extensively, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at home and at the family cabin. A highlight of his later years was lunch with his fellow Navy veterans, reminiscing about serving and flying.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Gwen and his sister, Mary Lou Graif. DIck is survived by his children: Becky Pearson, Deb (Jerry) Gillman, Cathy (Kent) Mundon, Rick (Lauren Spagnola) Pearson, Barb (Neil) Goodwin, and Margaret (Mark) Fairbanks. He has 11 grandchilden and 4 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial Friday, December 28, 2018 at 5 PM at St. Hubert Catholic Church, 8201 Main St., Chanhassen (952-934-9106). Visitation will take place for 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. A reception will follow the service.

He will be laid to rest next to Gwen at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Disabled American Veterans or Islands of Brilliance (a non-profit orgnization serving individuals with autism).
