Baraga Rita Benedict Age 88, of Pittsburgh, died peacefully on Friday, April 27, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John Baraga. She is survived by her children, Amy (Rich) Magner, JoAnne (Paul) Galbraith and John (Lisa) Baraga; her grandchildren, Justin (April) Baraga and Sarah (Scott) Doty; and her three great-grandsons.

Rita graduated from Duquesne High School. Prior to retirement, Rita worked as a librarian for St. Margaret’s of Scotland in Greentree, where she was a parish member for many years, and as a travel agent. Rita had a kind and generous spirit; she enjoyed traveling, loved all children and animals, and was known as a cookie-baker extraordinaire.

A private service will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Rita’s memory may be honored by donations to the animal therapy organization, petpartners.org.
