Rita J. Dedlow, 69, of Plymouth passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center with her family beside her. Rita was born on March 15, 1949 in West Salem a daughter of the late Archie and Eldora (Calkins) Niedfeldt. With her family she came to Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth High School.

In 1972 she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Dedlow in Waukegan, Ill. Bill preceded her in death on October 22, 2016. Rita was employed with Borden’s and eventually retired from Sheboygan County where she worked in food service at Sunnyridge Health Care Center and Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility.

Rita enjoyed time playing cards, going to garage sales and thrift stores along with singing and music. She especially enjoyed the monthly lunches with her friends, a get together she rarely missed. Rita was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Rita deeply cherished her children and grandchildren being survived by her daughters, Heather Dedlow of Sheboygan and Tanya (Cory) Garcia of Plymouth; a son, Mark (Rhonda) Bruegemann of Pewaukee and stepsons, Roger Schmahl and Daniel Schmahl, both of Plymouth; grandchildren, Jacob Hanson of Sheboygan, Payton Garcia of Plymouth, Chase and Skylar Bruegemann of Pewaukee; her brothers and sisters, Karen (Tony) O’Brien of Florida, David Niedfeldt of Plymouth, Ed (Linda) Niedfeldt of Plymouth, Mona (Richard) Neumann of Plymouth, Dan (Connie) Niedfeldt of Random Lake, Randy (Debbie) Niedfeldt of Plymouth and Judy (John) Faust of Cascade. Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends further survive. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a nephew, Robert Leary.

A memorial service for Rita will be held, 2 PM, Sunday, January 6 at Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Nathan Meador officiating. Family and friends may gather at Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Service, 123 South St., Plymouth on Sunday from 12 Noon until the time of service at 2 PM.

Rita’s family would like to extend a special and grateful thank you to the CICU nurses of Aurora St. Luke Medical Center.
