OBITUARY Rita Maria LaBonne September 3, 1926 – September 2, 2018 LaBONNE, Rita Maria, of Township of Washington, NJ, formerly of Orangeburg, NY, passed away September 2, 2018 on the eve of her 92nd birthday. Rita is predeceased by her Husband Hugh (1972). Devoted Mother, Grandmother and friend to many, she is survived by her son Maurice LaBonne and wife Allison McGuire, her daughter Suzette LaBonne-Liddy and husband Paul Liddy; her grandchildren Kierstyn, Ryan, Colin, Andrew and Abbe as well as her great-grandchildren Max and Lucia.

She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law, Eleanor and her husband John, as well as many nieces and nephews. An early pioneer of the women’s movement in Rockland, she held positions in the Democratic party and was most proud of being an ardent supporter of Congressman John Dow. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy.

Thank you to all her friends in the fellowship for their love and support over the past 16 years. Donations can be made to your local hospice in her memory. The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd, Westwood, NJ on Thursday, September 6th from 6-9 pm.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday September 7th at 10:30 am at Rockland Cemetery in Orangeburg, NY.
