Rita Narain Yadav, passed away peacefully at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore on October 20, 2018 following a long, valiant battle with breast cancer. Rita was born in New Delhi, India on December 16, 1961 to Elizabeth “Heather” and Dr. Shiv Kumar Gupta, D.B.A. (both now deceased) of Findlay, Ohio, where she grew up. It was a distinct honor for her to graduate in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Marketing from the University of Findlay, where her father was a professor for 45 years.
Rita worked for Verizon for over 16 years where she held held various positions, including Programmer and Project, Product and Contract Manager, and forged many life-long friendships. Later she served as Director of Marketing for Audissey Communication, Inc. and ProSIMP, LLC, which she co-founded. Continuing her strong entrepreneurial spirit, in 2013, she launched R2P2 and Associates, LLC, a Women-owned Consulting business.
However, Rita’s most important role in life, was that of mother, to her two beloved daughters. She was also a devoted wife, daughter, sister and friend to many, always lending a helping hand to those in need. Her friendship was legendary.
Friends found comfort in her ready ear and open door. Without a second thought, she invited close friends in need of a temporary place to stay into her home and heart. Rita’s closest friends, whom she brought together, enjoyed annual long weekends with her the past few years.
She also loved to go on shopping sprees and enjoyed her monthly Book Club with the “Aunties”. Rita was also well-traveled having toured around India, Europe and the US with family. She often visited family in Ohio and spent the past few years assisting her father, who passed away last year.
Simply put, Rita was a Giver, full of life, and a force to be reckoned with. She was a wonderful cook and the quintessential “Hostess with the Mostest”. She enjoyed feeding her family & friends, often hosting large dinner parties with ease.
Her delightful giggle and zest for life was contagious and something she openly shared with others. She was an incredibly genuine and caring person who was always there for her friends and family and will be forever in our hearts. She is survived by her husband Dr. Raj N. Yadav, M.D. and daughters Priya and Pooja of Fulton, Maryland, as well as three brothers Nirmal (Princi) Kumar of MD, Vimal (Leanne) Kumar of OH and Kamal (Rina) Kumar of NJ; and two sisters Vanita Samaniego and Anita (Chris) Kromer, both of OH.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
