Rita Tripp, 92, of Colona died Sunday, March 10 2019 at Hammond Henry Hospital, LTC, in Geneseo. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 18 at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. at the mortuary.

Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Rita was born August 15, 1926 in Brookfield, Mo.

to Harold and Cora Coram Carter. She married Ronald (her late husband) on Feb. 14, 1947 in Troy, Kansas.

He passed away May 14, 2013. Rita was owner-operator of Rita’s Beauty Shop at her home for many years. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, walking and was a master at most any crafts and sewing projects and was an avid reader.

She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Colona. Survivors (and spouses) include children: Gina (Kevin), Michael (Cheryl), Jerry (Renyee); grandchildren: Keri, Chandra, Sarah, Joshua, John; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Ashley, Ally, Jerry Lee Jr., John Jr., Felishia, Abby, Brenna; great-great-grandchildren: Liam and Lucas; her sister Roberta (Tommie) and brother Guy Lane (Buck); several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ronald, her parents and one brother.
