Obituary for Robbie Watts Robbie Elizabeth Watts, aged 95, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on June 6, 2018 at the Twilight Nursing Home in Corsicana where she was a resident. Robbie, better known as Bobbie, was born September 17, 1922 in Pageton, WV, the daughter of Aaron Sheffy Graham and Mary Elizabeth Shrader. Bobbie was raised with the love, honesty and wisdom so prevalent in the coal mining people of the Appalachians.
She learned to cook, sew, and help others from her mother. She passed that heritage on to her family. In 1944, Bobbie married her soldier, John W. Watts, and upon the end of WWII, they moved to Alexandria, VA.
Mr. Watts worked as a meat cutter and Bobbie began raising her family. They moved to the Dallas area in 1959. In addition to raising their five children, she did laundry, ironing, and babysitting others’ children to help the family meet ends.
She worked hard all her life, rose to every life challenge, loved her family, and loved the Lord Jesus. Bobbie had attended Memorial Baptist Church in Corsicana until her infirmities made it too difficult to attend. Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband John, ten brothers and sisters, and great-grandson Trevor Enochs.
She is survived by her sons and daughters, John Watts, Jr. and wife Kathy of Fort Worth, Michael Watts and wife Cathy of Carrollton, Dilynn Linex and husband Raymond of Corsicana, Kathy Enochs and husband Gary of Mesquite, and Mark Watts of Dallas; step-daughter Lana Miller of Fort Worth; ten grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; and a number of other relatives and close friends. Her family never doubted the depth of her love for them. She always “loved them more”.
Visitation will be 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. There will be a Celebration of Life service at the Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm on Sunday the 10th of June with Rev. Tim Schane.
After the service concludes, the family will proceed to the Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery for a brief interment service.
