Mr. Robert Albertus Young, Jr., 69, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at MUSC Health – Lancaster Medical Center. He was born September 16, 1949 in Lancaster, a son of the late Robert Albertus Young, Sr. and Mary Lou Hegler Young. Mr. Young was a special man.

He was a brother and teacher. He was associated with the Richland County School District for 27 years, teaching world history at Spring Valley High School and also at Richland North East. Mr. Young was also an historical researcher and a cowboy.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Lancaster Funeral Home. Mr. Young is survived by a sister, Mary Lynn Young Farr and her husband James of Woodstock, Georgia; a brother in law, Wylie Vaughn Sr. of Lancaster; four nephews, McKendree Farr, Taylor Farr, Wylie Vaughn, Jr. and Tony Vaughn; and two nieces, Crystal Carnes and Melinda Woodhurst. In addition to his parents, Mr. Young was preceded in death by a sister, Acelia Vaughn.
