Robert Blair York passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2018. He was born December 18, 1927 in Harrison County, Missouri to the late Francis Asbury York and Clara Helen (Cover) York, as the fourth of five children. He grew up on a farm in Spring Hill, Kansas.

Robert received his Bachelor’s Degree in Physics at the University of Kansas, and a Master’s Degree at MIT in Boston, Massachusetts. He also served four years in the United States Air Force, stationed at Eielson AFB in Anchorage, Alaska. … Read More » After his military duty, he moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa, where he worked for the Corps of Engineers for over 30 years until his retirement.

Robert also served as an Elder at the Benson Street Church of Christ (now Northwest Christian Church), and at First Christian Church, both in Council Bluffs. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant children, Mark David and Steven Allen; brothers, Charles Leland and Edwin York; sister, Avalon Reeves. Robert is survived by his wife of 67 years, Adrienne Irene (Auchard) York; children, Michael York (Debbie) of Glenwood, Iowa, Rebecca Heese (Steve) of Denver, Colorado, and Beth Ann Bonham (Ron) of St. Louis, Missouri; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. on Sunday October 28, 2018 at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral is 10:00a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment is in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Northwest Christian Church.
