Robert (Bob) Allen Eastman, age 76 of Faribault, MN passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the Faribault Senior Living Community following an extended illness surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N. in Faribault with the Rev.

Paul Rieger officiating. Interment will be held at the Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday for one hour prior to services.

Bob was born September 12, 1942 in St. Paul, MN to Raymond and Mildred (Eschenbacher) Eastman. The family moved to Faribault June 6, 1960 when they purchased Dienst Music Company and renamed it Eastman Music. Bob owned and operated Eastman Music until July 2016.

In addition to running a successful music store Bob also introduced skate sharpening to the business. It was well known throughout Faribault that Bob and Eastman Music was the place to go to have your skates sharpened. Bob had a deep love of hockey and was instrumental in establishing the Faribault Hockey Association.

He was recognized as the Father of Faribault Hockey in 1987. Bob played hockey throughout his adult life. Bob could be found at any hockey game standing behind the home teams goal cheering them on.

Bob was a bantam hockey coach for many years as well as an assistant high school coach. Bob along with his parents were inaugural season ticket holders of the Minnesota North Stars. They continued to be season ticket holders for many years.

Bobs other interests included hunting and fishing with friends and relatives. Bob was also an avid bowler and was well known throughout the bowling community. Bob loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He loved walking in the woods with all the kids. He had nicknames for all! Bob is survived by his children, Joel (Jackie) Eastman of Boulder City, NV, Lynette Eastman of Laughlin, NV, Debra (Steven) King of Rochester, MN, Dina (David) Maas, Lisa (Steven) Petricka, Sloane Eastman and Robyn (Ryan) Carroll all of Faribault; by 15 grandchildren, Tyler (Kayla), Mikalia, Ryan (Lindsey), Kayla (Ben), Jacob (Ellen), Samantha (Cameron), Noah, Halli, Reggie, Ella, Sean, Christian, Chase, Brie and Taylor; by 12 great grandchildren; by his brother, Tom (Cindy) Eastman of Brainerd, MN and sister, Susan Eastman of Faribault; by his former wife and friend, Shirley Eastman and many other relatives and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
