OBITUARY Robert “Bob” E. Crater May 7, 1930 – October 15, 2018 CRATER, Robert E. “Bob” age 88 went to be with the Lord and Anna, the love of his life, on Monday, October 15, 2018. He was born May 7, 1930 in Manatee County, FL to Louis Paul and Margaret Katherine (Beckhart) Crater. Bob joined the U.S. Army in 1947 at the age of 17.

He served 20 years, was a veteran of the Korean War twice, the Vietnam War twice, and was stationed in Japan and Germany. Bob married Anna L. (Spear) Miller July 2, 1981 in Bradenton, FL. They were snowbirds for a number of years and then moved back to OH in 2002 to be close to their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

They enjoyed travelling in their retirement years. Together they had 6 children: Ilona (Josie) Schreiner of Germany, Roxana (Mark) Lookabaugh of Springfield OH, Kamilla (Hal) Gorder of Colorado Springs CO, Russell (Lindy) Miller of Fischers IN, Rex (Stephanie) Miller of Springfield OH, and the late Uwe Kipp of Maple Grove MN. Bob was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He will be sadly missed but is now in the arms of Anna. A special thanks to the caregivers of Hearth & Home, you are all a true blessing to Bob and the family, as well as Hospice of Dayton whose care and compassion is appreciated, and to Dr. Darr for your exceptional care. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 22, 2018 at First Christian Church, 3638 Middle Urbana Rd.
