Robert “Bob” Kirby, Sr. September 19, 1931 – December 26, 2018 Robert “Bob” Kirby, Sr., 87 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was a high graduate where he loved to play football then went into the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict serving as Staff Sargent. He retired from Diamond Electronics as a production manager with 35 years of service.

He also enjoyed woodworking and working on projects. Robert is survived by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis; sons, Robert Kirby, Jr. of Sabina, Ohio and John Ray (Joyce) Kirby of Lumberton, Ohio; daughters, Judith Ann Kirby of Hillsboro, Ohio, Wanda (Roger) Fooce of Leesburg, Ohio and Nancy Kirby of Lancaster, Ohio; grandchildren, John Allen, David Allen, Gary Hughes, Joe Cordy, Jason Furgeson, Joshua Kirby, Jerimiah Kirby, Jennifer Boots, Christopher Speath, Rebecca Gaffin, John Campbell and Victoria Kirby; 14 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews and a cousin. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Norma Jean Gaffin, grandson, Andrew Speath, parents, Andy and Mary Kirby and brothers, Andy Kirby, Jr. and Arnold Kirby.

No services to be observed per Robert’s wishes. Caring Cremation(r) to take place. Inurnment will take place in Clinton County Memorial Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST. , LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. Memorial gifts may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice in his memory.
