Robert ‘Bob’ D. Crist, 67, of Lone Rock passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 at home from complications from Diabetes and COPD. He was born in Moline, IL on March 26, 1951 to Samuel and LuEtta (Ballard) Crist. He was raised in Cleveland, IL, until he was 17 at which time his family relocated to Avoca, WI.

Bob graduated from Riverdale High School, Muscoda, WI in 1970, going directly into the US Army and Honorably Discharged in 1973, as a Spec 5. Over the course of his lifetime he worked as a Semi Driver, worked in a Foundry, was an EMT, Fireman, including Fire Chief, a Heavy Equipment Operator, Police Officer, Deputy Sheriff and a Lead Maintenance Mechanic at UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison.

Bob is survived by his wife and best friend: Sandy (Otto-Durian) of Lone Rock; son: Duane (Evie) Crist of Blue River; daughter: Angie (Gwen) Rux of Stoughton; 2 sisters: Sharon (Dave) VanWinkle of Apache Junction, AZ, Janice (Robert) Benefield of Dixon, MO; 2 brothers: Jim (Helen) Crist of Lone Rock, and Bill Crist of Riverview, FL; 3 step-daughters: Kimberly (Rick) Geyser of Menomenee Falls, Andrea Durian of Racine, Michelle Krause-Mendoza of Milwaukee; 8 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 2 step-great-grandchildren; special friend Donald ‘Festus’ Havlik of Madison; many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 12:00 PM at the Avoca Community Building. Burial will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island Arsenal, IL at a later date.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
