Robert’s Obituary Reidsville – Robert Duval Jones departed this life on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, he attended Booker T. Washington High School and the Job Corps. Spiritually, he was a member of First Christian Church.

He was formerly employed by Zarn, Inc., Avante Nursing Center and Annie Penn Hospital. Dejit’s Pool Hall was his favorite place of employment. Duval was an accomplished pool player and always enjoyed a friendly game of pool with local residents and visitors.

They knew him by his nickname, “Dip”. He enjoyed listening to music and collected scores of R & B, Jazz and soul albums. His father, Robert Odell “Bongo” Jones, preceded him in death.

Survivors are: a loving mother, Inez Dillard Jones; sisters, Rev. Dr. Portia Faye Hopper (Ernest) and Evang. Linda Hedrick (John Mack); brothers, Marty Jones, Dr. Joey Jones (Kinta) and Rev.

Rudy Jones (Sherrie); special cousin, Frances Macklin; devoted friend, George Gunn; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019 from the First Christian Church, Disciples Of Christ, 206 Holderby Street with Rev. Dr. Jacqualyn Mc Henry presiding and Rev.

George Gunn, eulogist. His remains are in the care of Johnson & Sons.
