Robert E. Cleaves CONTINENTAL – Robert E. Cleaves, 97 of Continental died at 7:51 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Mercy Defiance Hospital. He was born May 18, 1921 in Continental to the late Lawrence E. and Carrie I. (Rose) Cleaves. He married Susan Flory, she preceded him in death.

Robert is survived by a nephew: David (Cecilia) Warsack of Medina. He is preceded in death by a daughter: Carolyn Cleaves; and two brothers: Richard Cleaves, and Raymond Cleaves. Robert was an Army veteran of WWII.

He retired from Massey Ferguson. Robert was an antique tractor enthusiast and loved farming. He also enjoyed watching basketball.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Monroe Cemetery, Continental with Pastor Steve Heilshorn officiating, military rites by the Continental American Legion. Services are under the direction of Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental. Online condolences may be expressed at www.
