Obituary for Robert F. Poquette Robert F. Poquette, 87, of Kingsford, MI, died Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Oscar G. Johnson V.A. Medical Center in Iron Mountain. He was born February 13, 1931 in Spaulding, MI, son of the late Fred and Eldora (St. John) Poquette. Robert was a longtime resident of Kingsford.

He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Augsburg, Germany. He married Sharon Duchaine on July 31, 1954 at the American Martyrs Church in Kingsford. Bob was a devout Catholic and was a member of American Martyrs Church.

Bob loved gardening and antique collecting. He enjoyed his pets and feeding the crows, squirrels, and deer. Bob was a great storyteller.

He liked spending time at camp and was very proud of his artesian well. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sharon Poquette; three children, Vicki (Bob) Sparpana of Kingsford, MI, Joseph (Angela) Poquette of Kingsford, MI, and Julie (Tony) Sparapani of Iron Mountain, MI; his brother, Jim Poquette of Iron Mountain, MI; seven grandchildren: Angela Elliott-Johnson (Troy), Crystale Poquette, Joseph Poquette, Leonard Poquette, Mychael Hall (Lia Olson), Melissa (Clint) Ocain and Jesse Poquette; five great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Eldora Poquette, a son, Larry Poquette and a sister, Gloria Schmidt.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 pm Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Kingsford Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, 11:00 am at American Martyrs Church in Kingsford. Fr.

Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery. Condolences to the family of Robert Poquette may be expressed online at www.
