Brunswick – Robert G. Turner, 86, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Mid Coast Hospital. He was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, on December 5, 1931, the son of Earl and Grace (Blessing) Turner. He grew up in Pittsfield, graduating from Pittsfield High School, class of 1950 On September 1, 1952, Robert married his one and only, Constance Biette and the couple resided in Brunswick Maine to raise their family.

. Robert joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country until 1955. Following his naval service, he was employed with The Supervisor of Shipbuilding Bath in Quality Assurance until retiring in 1987.

Robert was a man with many passions. He was an avid golfer, belonging to local clubs over the years but most recently at Mere Creek in Brunswick. Robert also coached Babe Ruth baseball and junior golf.

One of his proudest accomplishments was singing and directing several Barber Shop Quartets and choruses in the Brunswick and Portland area. He also had several of his own music arrangements that were published. He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Connie; his daughter, Carol and her husband Peter Choate; grandchildren, Sarah Greenlaw and her husband Steve, Brian Choate and his wife Jess and Amanda Choate and 3 great grandchildren.
