Robert H. Salazar, 71, of Beeville, left this earth on September 22, 2018. He was born in Beeville on March 7, 1947 to Santos and Carolina (Hinojosa) Salazar. Robert served in the Army and was a retired ranch cowboy.

Robert grew up in Beeville where he quickly found his love for the cowboy life. He loved rodeos and spent several years riding bulls and broncs and would soon marry and start a family. He worked on ranches across South Texas, living the simple country life.

Later in life, he found his second home in the mountains of Tennessee where he discovered his Native American heritage. During his time in Tennessee, he was known as “Chief” and he spent his time attending Powwows and learned to make his own Native American beadwork. He loved to talk about his time in the beautiful mountains of Tennessee.

All who knew Robert, knew of his love for his family and friends. He took great pride in all of his children, grandchildren and becoming a great grandfather. Robert was a true Cowboy, from the old days never giving up hope that he would get back on that horse one day.

Robert will be greatly missed by many. He is proceeded in death by his parents, and twelve siblings. He is survived by his daughters, Roxanne (John) Kelly of Canyon and Amanda (Daryl) Smith of San Angelo; son, Arnold (Danielle) Arambula of Beeville; brother, Ralph H (Marilyn) Salazar of Spring Branch, Texas; and sister, Rose (Hector) Torres of Beeville.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Riley Kelly Baker, Haley and Nathan Kelly, Sydney Smith; and his great-grandson, Oliver Baker. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel.
