Robert W. “Hank” Hankey, 83, of Kittanning, died on Monday Oct. 8, 2018, in Forbes Regional Medical Center. He was born on May 12, 1935, in Kittanning Township, to the late Chester Paul and Frances Ruth Allene (Nelson) Hankey.

He was a lifelong resident of the area and he retired from Windstream in 1996, after 43 years of employment as a cable splicer. Hank was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kittanning. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and loved his family and his family gatherings.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 61 years, Ruth Ann (Johnston) Hankey, whom he married on June 8, 1957; daughter, Tammy (Mike) Ondich of Rural Valley; son, Matthew (Rhonda) Hankey of Clarion; daughter, Teresa (Jack) Zydonik of Kittanning; and son, Mark (Sharon) Hankey of Rural Valley; grandson, Corey (Shannon) Hankey; granddaughter, Crista (Tim) Anderson; grandson, Camden Hankey; granddaughter, Sarah Ondich; granddaughter, Emily (Tyson) Kennedy; grandson, Jacob Ondich and fiancée, Bethany Flemming; grandson, Sean (Kelsey) Hankey; grandson, Braden (Kristin) Hankey; granddaughter, Alyssa Hankey; granddaughter, Josee Zydonik; grandson, Elliot Zydonik; great-granddaughter, Kessler Hankey; great-granddaughter, Livy Hankey; great-grandson, Franklin Hankey; great-granddaughter, Hailey Hankey; great-grandson, Walter Hankey; great-granddaughter, Lucy Hankey; great-granddaughter, Kinsley Kennedy; and Hank was also expecting his ninth great-grandchild in March; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sister, Eilleen Durst; and brother, James Hankey. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, Oct.

10, 2018, from 3-9 p.m. in Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, where additional viewing will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. with his church pastor, the Rev. Carl Johnson, officiating.
