Robert Dean Hanson, 42, of Argusville, ND, died at his home on February 13, 2019. Rob was born August 25, 1976 to Steve and Diane Hanson of Argusville, ND joining his two older brothers, Brent and Eric. Robert graduated from Cass Valley North High School in 1994.

Rob went on to further his education at NDSU, MSU and Wahpeton State College of Science. On April 16, 2005 Robert married Trisha Johnson at Maranatha Lutheran Church in Glyndon, MN. Together they purchased and lived in Robert’s family home in rural Argusville.

They welcomed a son Gage in 2006 and their daughter Payton in 2009. Robert’s professional career included various positions in the HVAC Industry, most recently at Grant’s Mechanical as a Project Manager. Rob gave of his time and energy in so many ways.

He was an active member of the El Zagal Shrine and the annual Shrine Circus. Rob was very involved in preparing the celebratory meal for the circus committee members and volunteers as well as participating and cooking in various fund-raising events and competitions. Bob was also a member of the Argusville Volunteer Fire Department.

Rob loved spending time with family and friends at the family lake home on Leek Lake, hunting, fishing, and in earlier years racing snowmobiles with his brother Eric. While Robert may have faced battles in his personal life, there was one thing that was undeniably certain, that was his love for family and friends. Whether he knew you for a day or all of your life, Rob had a way of making you feel as though you were the most important person he knew.

Rob spent many treasured hours with his children Gage and Payton who were the light of his life and came first and foremost. He would have moved heaven and earth for them. He also spent countless hours with his many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He could be found pulling them on the jet-ski, taking them for ice cream on the pontoon or countless rides on the family golf cart for hours at a time. Robert is survived by his parents Steve and Diane Hanson of Argusville; his children Gage and Payton Hanson and their mother Trish Hanson of Arthur, ND; brothers Brent (Laura) Hanson of Gardner & Eric (Carla) Hanson of Argusville; nieces Kalyn Fraser (Matt Moen) and Kalyn’s son Gavin; Taylor Hanson, nephews Ryan (Meghan) McGarry and children Mason and Mia, Matthew McGarry and son Dawson, Casey (Brittni) McGarry and children Camdyn and Carter; grandmother’s Eleanor Hanson of Argusville and Dolores Corley of Fargo, godmother Donna Westrick of Fargo as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. While Robert was survived by many special friends, there were none as special as Scott and Kristi Leverson and son Kaden.

Robert was preceded in death by grandfathers Russell Hanson of Argusville and Arnold (Pug) Rieniets of Fargo and godfather Wally Westrick. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to be sent to an education fund established for Robert’s children at the Harwood State Bank in Harwood, ND. Visitation: Friday, February 22, 2019 from 5-6:30 pm at the Argusville Community Center, Argusville, ND.
