Bob was born in Pekin, Illinois on June 13, 1964 to Kenneth Sr. and Joyce (Goetze) Hillyer. He was a graduate of Pekin High School in Illinois He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 181 Union.

Surviving are one daughter, Tiffany Hays (James), Okeechobee, FL, one son Jacob Hillyer, Greenwood, IN, two grandchildren, Corbitt and Rylee Hays, one sister, Londa Vollmer, Pekin, IL, and one brother, Kenneth Hillyer, Boynton Beach, FL. Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Mary Hillyer. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Robert “Bob” Hillyer will be held by the family at a later date.
