Robert James Clark Jr. of Merrimac, West Virginia December 15, 1952 – February 16, 2019 Robert James Clark, Jr. of Merrimac, WV, born on December 15, 1952, a son of the late Robert James Clark Sr. and Nellie Irene Hoover who survives him, departed this life on Saturday morning, February 16, 2019, surrounded by his family at his home in Matewan, WV. Robert was 66 years old. In addition to his father, Robert is preceded in death by his grandparents Sarge and Gertrude Clark and several uncles.

Robert was a retired coal truck driver, having worked for over 25 years, and was a member of Sprigg Freewill Baptist Church. Those that survive him include his wife Norma Jean Clark of Merrimac, WV; sons; Joshua Clark and his wife Kaitlen of Matewan, WV, Robert Jason Clark and his girlfriend Angel Chapman of Stone, KY, Aaron Thomas Clark and his wife Crystal of Richmond, KY; brothers; Billy Clark of Las Vegas, NV and a special brother Daniel “Big D” Hensley and his wife Kayla of Thacker, WV; grandchildren; Hunter Clark, Jaxs Clark, Allie Clark, Maleah Coleman, Asher Clark, Abel Clark and a special niece whom he called his granddaughter Ezzy Hensley. He was also expecting the arrival of another grandchild.

Robert is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, beloved friends and family who will surely miss him. Honoring services will be conducted on Tuesday February 19, 2019 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Sprigg Freewill Baptist Church of Sprigg, WV with Pastor Timothy Yates officiating. Burial will then follow at the Clark Family Cemetery at Merrimac, WV.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will begin receiving friends on Monday, February 18, 2019 at the church from 6-9:00 p.m. with a service being held at 7:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may also be shared with the family by visiting www.
