Robert James Hayes, Jr., age 68 of Grand Island died April 28, 2018 at the Veteran’s Home in Grand Island. Robert was born September 2, 1949 in Hastings, the son of Robert and Althea (Henry) Hayes, Sr He grew up in Columbus and was a 1968 graduate of Columbus High School.

Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He formerly lived in Columbus, Tucson, AZ and San Manuel, AZ. He had worked in copper mines and was a truck driver before his retirement.
