Robert J. Tierney “Rock”, age 79, peacefully went home to Jesus on October 7, 2018, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 23, 1939 to the late Cyril and Rena (Remmel) Tierney in Appleton. Bob served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960.

He then met his soul mate, whom he liked to call ‘Luckey Audrey’, they were married on July 3, 1965. Bob was employed at Neenah Foundry for 37 years; at work they called him Rambo. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing golf, and watching the Green Bay Packers.

He loved singing, especially ‘My Wild Irish Rose’ with his siblings. Bob could see the best in everyone; he had an amazing sense of humor and his joy was contagious. Bob’s passion was teaching people about the love of Jesus.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey (Platten) Tierney, daughters: Tammy (Greg) Sampson and Patricia Tierney; grandchildren: Tyler, Angie, Jackie and Ben; great grandchildren: Carson and Morgan; siblings: Richard (Barbara) Tierney, Terrance (Vicky) Tierney; sisters-in-law: Eva Biering, Alice Bogenschutz, Leona, Diane and Carol Platten; brother-in law, Mike Buss, and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Tierney, parents, brothers: John (Janice), Thomas and Dennis (Grace) Tierney; sister, Linda Buss, sisters-in-law: Virginia Zobel, Florence Platten, Geneva Streblow and Frances Woodke; brothers-in-laws: Norman, Vernon, Eugene and John (Jack) Platten, Bill Woodke and Donald Zobel; nieces and nephews: Jerry Zobel, John Bogenschutz, Jill Woodke and Sandy Platten. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna, with Pastor James Beck officiating.
