Robert Joyner, age 87 of 102 N. Freeman Street, Goldsboro, North Carolina departed this life and entered his heavenly home on May 8, 2019 at Kitty Askins. Robert was born August 26, 1931 in Lenoir County to the late Leamon Joyner and Bessie Wade Joyner. He attended Lenoir County Schools.

He later met and married the love of his life Doris Lee Bryant-Joyner. Out of the union two daughters were born, Eleanor Joy Harding and Barbara Joyner-White. Robert worked for Cherry Hospital for thirty years until retirement and Smith Hardware part time.

He was a long time member of Saint Mark Church of Christ. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Doris Joyner; daughter Barbara Joyner; five sisters Louise Kornegay, Mozelle Holmes, Eliza Jones, Oletha Bright and Alice Faye Spells. He was also preceded in death by three brothers Frank Joyner, Leamon Joyner, Jr. and John Pressly Joyner.

He is survived by one daughter Eleanor Harding, one granddaughter La’Kissa Allen, one sister Ethel Lee Farmer, and a host of nieces , nephews and friends.
