Robert Kenneth Maier, Jr. passed away peacefully on April 17, 2018, in Ocala, FL, at the age of 79. He was born on November 21, 1938 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Robert and Maxine Maier. He was one of four children.

His sisters, Judy Jones (Leonard) currently reside Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Melody Robertson (Brent), in Goshen, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Maier (Theresa) of Elkhart, Indiana. Bob graduated from Elkhart High School in 1957 and then married the special love of his life, Michele Lee Donovan on October 11, 1968.

They were married for 49 years and since 1973 resided in Ocala, FL. The couple have four children, Tamara Lynn Maier of Elkhart, IN, Michael Robert Maier of Chicago, IL, Michelle Annette Maier of Chicago, IL, and Christopher Jon Maier (Jennifer) of Orlando, FL. Bob also was the proud grandfather to three grandchildren: Nicole Howe of Ohio, Landon Kenneth Maier and Palmer Christopher Maier of Orlando, FL, and two great-grandchildren.

Bob worked in sales for LaSalle Bristol and retired after 40 years of service. Upon retirement, Flint Creek Outfitters allowed him to continue in sales for another six years. He loved his golfing friends, working in his yards, washing his cars, his church men’s group and being around people.

He worked out at the YMCA for 25 years and in retirement moved to The Zone. Above all loves he loved his family. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Ocala.
