Mr. Robert E. “Knot” Thompson, Sr., 65. of Mt. Olive passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018.

Knot’s funeral service will be Saturday, July 7th at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of West & Dunn Funeral Home, Newton Grove. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral service from 10:00 till 11:00 a.m. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Donald Massey.

Knot will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery, Newton Grove following the funeral service. He is survived by his wife, Katherine of the home, daughters; Brandie T. Melby of Newton Grove, Michelle Wright of Walchula, Fl. , sons; Robert Lee Thompson, Goldsboro, Joey Thompson, Newton Grove, Robert Earl Thompson, Jr., Angier, brothers; Jerry Thompson, Newton Grove, Wayne Thompson, Dunn and his father George Thompson, Newton Grove.

Also left to cherish his memory are 19 grand children and 2 great grandchildren. Knot was preceded in death by his mother, Nona Belle Thompson and sister, Linda “Bird” Yakey. Online condolences may be made at www.
