Robert S. Mondora, 74, of Boardman passed away peacefully in his home on the morning of Sunday July 15th, 2018. Robert was the second of three sons born to the late Myron and Carmel (Capeto) Mondora on December 8th, 1943 in Boardman, where he lived his entire life. After graduating high school in 1961, he attended Youngstown University and graduated with a Bachelors of History and Social Studies in 1966.

On December 23rd, 1967, he married Kathryn L. LeMoine, the love of his life and devoted wife of 50 years. He worked for R.J. Reynolds for 34 years and retired in 1998. Robert had many hobbies.

He was a member of Christ Our Savior Knights of Columbus Council 4471. Always a faithful Yankees fan, Robert enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and he loved to fish and golf. He had a passion for cooking, especially wedding soup for the priests of St. Dominic Parish where he was a member for 48 years.

Robert will be dearly missed by all who knew him as he had the kindest of souls and was able to befriend a total stranger in just minutes. Robert found his greatest enjoyment while spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn of Boardman; one son, Bob (Michelle) Mondora of Hudson; one daughter, Marla Mondora of Raleigh, North Carolina; two grandsons, Jacob and Daniel Mondora, whom he absolutely adored; two brothers, Myron (Janet) Mondora of Canfield and James (Jose’) Mondora of New Middletown; numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 18th, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market Street Youngstown, OH 44512. A prayer service will be held on Thursday, July 19th, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial celebrated by Rev. Vincent DeLucia, O.P., at St. Dominic Church, 77 East Lucius Ave.
