Robert T Simpson Sr, 78, of Gardiner, passed away with family by his side February 4, 2019, at Maine Medical Center. Robert was born in Saco, on February 13, 1940, the son of George and Cecile (LeClair) Simpson. Robert married Rita Wilkinson on February 25, 1971 in Old Orchard Beach.

He made his living building homes and at the tannery in Saco. Robert liked to take walks, do crossword puzzles, and gambling, especially at the horse track. He was well known in the local horse racing community.

He enjoyed talking about the weather and politics. He loved dogs. Robert is survived by his son Robert and his wife Kelsey of Gardiner and their children Samantha, Brandon, Mackenzie, Maleah, Connor, Bryson, Sydney, and Carrah ; His daughter Jean of Portland and her son Andrew ; Laura of Massachusetts and her children Robbie and George; and Kim of New Hampshire and her children Ashley and Christopher.

He also has 8 great-grandchildren: Antonio, Jaxon, Gracelyn, Addison, Hunter, Hannah, Samantha, and Kaylee. At Roberts request there will be no services.
