Robert W. Dias, 79, of Colonia passed away September 27. Born in Brooklyn, he was raised and resided in Perth Amboy. Robert eventually settled in the Colonia section of Woodbridge.

He was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School where he was a star baseball player. Prior to his retirement, Robert worked in construction as a drywall installer for Laborers local 72 and he owned and operated BD Drywall. Robert played baseball in earlier years for The Meade Street Aces in Perth Amboy and semi-professionally he was a part of the Giants.

Predeceased by his siblings, Raymond, Walter, Lester, Kenneth, Delores, Muriel and Alice. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Marlene, his children. Robert of South Amboy, John of Woodbridge and Chris of Woodbridge, his step children Dawn Selensky of South Amboy, Joseph Selensky of Hamilton, and Michael Selensky of Tinton Falls, his sister, Annette Wynkoop, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were private under the direction of Whiteley Funeral Home, 241 Bordentown Ave. , South Amboy.
