He was born August 13, 1936 in Mancelona, Michigan. Rodger was raised in Ohio and had made his home in Lorain for over fifty years.

He was employed in the shipping Department at US Steel in Lorain for thirty-one years before retiring in 1998. Rodger was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Elyria. He loved playing the steel guitar.

Rodger was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years Shirley Louise Robbins (nee: Henderson); his sons David Robbins of Amherst and Adrian Robbins of Elyria; his daughter Angela Robbins of Lorain; his grandchildren Laquetta Wysong (Jeffrey) and Thomas Nicoloff Jr. (Haley); his great grandson Vladimir Nicoloff; and his brother McKinney Rowe, Jr. of Salem, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his brothers James Robbins, David Rowe and Donald Rowe; and his parents.

Friends may call Saturday, December 29, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Midway Baptist Church; 41812 Griswold Road, Elyria. The Rev. Rick Keesee, and Rev.

Kermit Rowe, his cousin will CO-officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
