Roger W. Easterday, 65, of Pandora, OH, peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 10:05 a.m. at Blanchard Valley Hospice Center, Findlay, OH, with his wife by his side. This date will always be known as his “BEST DAY EVER”. He was born on January 23, 1953 to the late Calvin Easterday and Ruby (Collins, Easterday) Tuttle.

He married Melissa L. Easterday on October 19, 2002. He is survived by his wife: Melissa; his mother: Ruby Tuttle; 3 daughters: Brea (Tony) Wilson of Ft. Wayne, IN, Alexis (Tony) Copeland, and Ashley (Jose) Montes, both of West Palm Beach, Fla.

; 2 sons: Calvin (Katie) Easterday of Spring, Texas and Trent (Debi) Easterday of Ft. Wayne, IN; 2 stepchildren: Jacob Wauters of Carmel, IN and Josh Wauters of Pandora, OH; 15 grandchildren: Taya, Malik, Caden, Willough, Zoe, Eero, Xavier, Delaney, Makena, Eli, Marcus, Miles, Antonio, Cassie and Harper. He is also survived by his nephews: Chad (Sanna) and Robin (Candace) Easterday; mother- and father-in-law: Bob and Marlene Amstutz; sister- and brother-in-law: Beth and Ken Barhoover, nephew: Jack and niece: Eve; his lifelong best friend Matt Cool; and his beloved Siberian Husky: Gizmo.

Roger was preceded in death by his father: Calvin Easterday; his step-father: John Tuttle; and his brother: Michael Easterday. Roger was a proud Vietnam-era veteran who served in the Air Force, stationed in Okinawa, Japan, where he was a K-9 handler. After the military, he followed in his father’s footsteps and worked in Law Enforcement for many years.

Most recently, Roger worked as a Program Manager for Superior Trim in Findlay, OH. Roger graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He was a member of Sts.

Peter and Paul Church, Ottawa, Ohio. Roger was blessed to have in his life the Pandora Community and many family and friends who have been incredibly supportive and generous during his battle with gallbladder cancer. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, from 6pm to 8pm with a 7pm service at Auburn American Legion Post 97, 1729 Sprott St., Auburn, IN 46706.

Burial will be private. There will be a celebration of life at the home of Roger and Melissa Easterday on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER Funeral Home, Ottawa.
