Obituary for Mr. Roland Francis Mr. Roland Francis Roland Francis aka Boo Boo, 52 passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at LSU Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Bellevue Street Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery.

In April, Roland received his diagnosis and began taking many trips seeing different specialists which led to multiple stays in the hospital where his beloved wife and best friend, Monica never left his side and remained hopeful and positive of which he loved. He never wanted to spend a second of his time without her love and presence next to him. Roland was one of Louisiana’s Racing Industry most liked figures.

From humble origins, he reached the pinnacle of his profession as a trainer, astounding people along the way with a celebrated eye for a horse. He sent over 30 plus years working. He was a dedicated worker and faithfully go to work regardless of weather conditions.

He is survived by his wife, Monica Biagase Francis of Opelousas, LA; five stepchildren that he raised like his own, Mederick Thibodeaux of Houston, TX, Racardo, Demond, Corey and Asheley Thibodeaux, all of Opelousas, LA. A special granddaughter, Hailey Thibodeaux of Opelousas, LA, three grandsons, Racardo, Jr., Dyllon, and Brodi Thibodeaux all of Opelousas, LA; two sisters, Jeanette Francis and Tracy Jackson of Opelousas, LA; three brothers, Ronald Francis (Melissa), Donald Francis and Danny Francis (Shannon) of Opelousas, LA. A godson, Kevin Francis also of Opelousas, LA, six sisters-in law, and brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Francis, grandparents, Benny and Lillian Francis, a brother, Robert Francis and a nephew, Raymond Wilfrod. Visiting hours will be observed from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Bellevue Street Baptist Church. Share words of comfort with the Francis family at www.
