Roland’s Obituary Roland Hugh Campbell, 65, of Leland, died Sunday, May 26, 2019, at Accordious Nursing in Wilmington. He was born December 7, 1953, in Guyana, South America to the late Matthew Campbell and Vilma Ross Campbell. Roland was a leather craftsman and cobbler.

He moved to New York City, where he worked for Queens College for 15 years, prior to his retirement. He moved to North Carolina to be closer to his sons and families. Roland was a very positive, independent, jovial, loving and caring man.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Diane Sheriff Campbell; sons, Paul Campbell and wife Veronica and David Campbell and grandchildren, Alexia, Gianna and Daviyon. A funeral mass will be held at 10am, Friday, May 31, 2019, at Basilica Shrine of St. Mary. Burial will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
