Jayson’s Obituary Jayson Woodrow Schlappich, (33), passed away in his home May 19, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Jessica (Morway) Schlappich and two sons, Mayson (6) and Bryson (3) of Wilmington, NC. His parents, Perry and Cathy (Brown) Schlappich of Rocky Point, NC.

Two brothers, Justin and Joshua Schlappich of Myerstown, PA. Grandparents, Woodrow and Sandra Brown of Myerstown, PA. Grandmother, Jean Schlappich of Myerstown, PA.

Three nieces, Lily Schlappich of Myerstown, PA. Nayeliz and Sophia Morway of Wilmington, NC. One nephew, Brennon Schlappich of Myerstown, PA.

In laws, Peter and Beth Morway of Wilmington, NC. Brother/Sister-in-law, Derek and Glenda (Marrero) Morway in Wilmington, NC. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

He was born in Lebanon, PA on October 3, 1985. Jayson graduated from ELCO high school in Myerstown, PA, Class of 2004. He met the love of his life, Jessica, in 2004.

They later married in 2012 to raise their family of two boys, Mayson and Bryson. He joined the Army Reserves in 2005. Acquiring his machinist skills and certifications to prepare him for his civilian career as a Machinist starting at Peiffer Machines for 6 years and Alcon for 2 years in PA.

In 2013, he accepted an offer from GE for a Machinist position in Wilmington, NC. Soon after moving his family down and settling in, he was called to active duty for a year tour in Afghanistan. Jayson was passionate about hunting, fishing and hockey.

He loved to share his passions with his two young boys. He was a dedicated family man and would do anything for anyone in need. Jayson was a loving person who will be truly missed by all.

We love you and you will be forever in all of our hearts. A memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Andrews Market Street Chapel, 1617 Market Street, Wilmington, NC, with Dr. Steve Spangler officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10am.

Immediately following the service, the family will be escorted to the American Legion Post #10, 702 Pine Grove Drive, Wilmington, NC, 28409, (phone 799-3806). Friends are invited to join the family there for a reception.
