Ronald A. Phenix, 73, of Port Charlotte passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 after a recent diagnosis of cancer. He was the son of Joseph and Antoinette Phenix, born December 20, 1944 in Hartford, CT. He attended St. Anne’s, Bulkeley High School and A. I. Prince Tech.

Ron joined the Connecticut National Guard and served with the 103rd Fighter Group at Bradley International Airport, retiring after 30 plus years as a Technical Sargent in 1996. He was proud to have worked on the A10, known as “the Warthog”. Ron and his wife, Joan, moved to Florida 12 years ago; Ron embraced his new community.

Ron will be greatly missed by his wife of 44 years, Joan; sister, Jeannine Rannow; brother, P. Norman (Joanne) Phenix; sister-in-law, Margaret Cochrane; nieces and nephews; his “girlfriend,” Kasey, who was always by his side; and numerous friends in Connecticut and Florida. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Ron will be buried at Sarasota National Veterans Cemetery.
