Ronald Dean Kidder, 77, of Marieta passed away peacefully on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was born April 23, 1941 in Washington County to Orval and Sarah Koon Kidder. Ron founded Kidder Tree Service in 1962 and continued to work part-time even after his retirement.

He enjoyed every aspect of tree work, and appreciated the employees he worked with over the years and the many customers he met along the way. On December 24, 1960, he married Sandra D. {Snider} Kidder, who preceded him in death in February 20, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Barbara {Barth} Kidder; two sons, Ronald D. (Tonya) Kidder, Jr., Scott D. (Angela) Kidder, of Marietta; three daughters, Charlotte (Robert Sr.) Parlin, of Parkersburg, Gloria (Charles) Becker, Tammy (Randall Sr.) Flower of Marietta; 10 grandchildren: Jimmy Parlin, Sandy Parlin, Jessica (Aaron) Carver, Cassandra (Joseph T.) Nesselroad, Chelsea Kidder, Ashley (Jacob) Stewart, Charlie (Ashtyn) Becker, Amanda (Jared) Voldness, Randy Flower, Travis Flower; 14 great grandchildren; five brothers: Dores “Lee”, Blaine, Danny, William and Russell Kidder; 3 sisters: Jean Offenberger, Mary Meadows, Barbara Snider; Stepson Kevin Barth; Stepdaughter Donna (David) Fairchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John and Claude. The family will greet friends Monday, October 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home – East Lawn Chapel, 27880 State Route 7, Marietta 45750. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Larry E. Miller officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
