Ronald E. Christison, of Meridian, passed away at home on Monday, June 4th 2018, after a courageous 26 year battle with cancer. He was 79 years old. Ron was born on October 24, 1938 in Emmett, ID to Jack and Frances Christison.

He graduated from Emmett High School in 1957 and married Dotty Stroud on June 14, 1957, and together they raised three children. He served active duty aboard the USS Taylor in the US Navy from 1957 to 1959, where he received a letter of commendation for excellence in his operation of the ship store. He was employed as an accountant with Boise Cascade Corporation (BCC) for 35 years.

He began his career with BCC in Emmett, ID before moving to the Barber Mill, Boise Headquarters and then completing the last 24 years of his career in La Grande, OR. After retirement he returned to assist in Y2K preparation. Ron was a very organized person which served him well in his career as an accountant.

He loved his family and took them on a vacation each summer. He and Dotty enjoyed bowling while in La Grande before becoming obsessed with golfing after he retired. He loved living on Lakeview Golf Course and was especially proud of his 3 hole in ones.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dotty, of 61 years and his three children: Vicki (John), Brent (Deb) and Coni (Chad). He was lovingly referred to as Papa Ron to six grandchildren: Courtney (Stephen), Kyle, Delaney, Brenna, Ashlyn (Jake) and Kelton. He was Great Papa to three great grandchildren: Jackson, Brax and Lexi.

He was looking forward to the birth of his fourth great grandchild in November. He is also survived by two sisters, a brother and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 8th, at 11:00 AM, at Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett, ID. The family requests that you make a donation to the charity of your choice. The family would like to thank Treasure Valley Hospice, specifically Karrie, Martin and JoAnn, for their excellent and caring service.

They would also like to thank all our wonderful friends and family for all their support during this difficult time.
