Obituary for Ronald “Fuzzy” Eckert Ronald “Fuzzy” Eckert Ronald “Fuzzy” Eckert, 75, of Millstadt, IL, died September 21, 2018 in Millstadt, IL. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 11, 1942 in Belleville, II, son of Eugene W. Eckert and Wilma F. Schubert .

Fuzzy was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a cook during his time of service. Fuzzy later worked as a postal carrier for United States Postal Service, for over 20 years, where he was awarded “Rural Carrier of the Year” for the entire state of Illinois, in 2011.

He was an Executive Member of the Millstadt Senior Center and a Trustee for the Village Board. Fuzzy had several hobbies he enjoyed participating in over the years. He played slow pitch softball, and coached girls softball and umpired girls and boys softball with Leroy Franke.

He enjoyed playing corn hole and kloepper. He was an avid Cardinals Baseball fan, and watched Midgett Racing with Rocky Eckert. Most recently he could be seen at a number of sporting events, both home and away, played by his great niece, Emily.

He liked to watch Carson play soccer. And he loved to listen to Katelyn read to him. He was very active in asking the children about having their homework completed everyday after school.

They were the highlight of his days. Surviving are his Sister, Donna Gaulrapp of Millstadt, II; Niece, Lori Gaulrapp of Millstadt, IL; Niece, Marcia Twelllman of Millstadt, IL and Great Nieces and Nephew, Emily, Carson, and Katelyn. Fuzzy was preceded in death by his Mother, Wilma F. Schubert, Father, Eugene W. Eckert, and his beloved dog, Holly.

Friends will be received at Leesman Funeral Home in Milstadt, IL, Monday, September 25, 2018 from 4-8 PM. Services will be held at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, IL on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Darrell Weber officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt.

Evergreen Cemetery, in Millstadt, Illinois. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made to the Millstadt Senior Center or the Trust Fund for the Great Nieces and Nephew, Emily, Carson, and Katelyn for educational expenses. To sign the online guest book, go to www.
